Another Development Project Breaks Ground on North Broad Street

According to CBS Philly, two parking lots at Broad and Callowhill will be converted into two luxury apartment buildings complete with areas of commerce. The two new apartment buildings will be joining many other projects as part of the redevelopment shoring up the long-neglected corridor along North Broad Street.

Digging is in progress on the parking lots on both the east and west sides of Broad at Callowhill.

Parkway Corporation, the owners of the lots, have spent years looking for developers to take on the terrain north of City Hall.  The mixed-use buildings will house more than 300 apartments, retail space and 370 parking spaces.

“I think they are very significant development sites for the city because there’s been a lot of activity off Broad Street, on both sides, and for some reason Broad Street has been kind of left out of some of that but now there is so much action,” Robert Zuritsky, President of Parkway Corporation, said of the opportunity

The project is slated to be finished by the end of next year.
