Bridesburg Intersection to be Closed Starting Feb. 22

According to a press release by PennDOT, the intersection of Juniata and Almond Streets in Bridesburg will be closed starting Monday, February 22.

It will be closed for the installation of a storm sewer to be extended under I-95. This project is part of the stormwater management system improvement plan that falls under PennDOT’s $160.3 million Revive 95 plan.

Construction at the intersection is predicted to be completed in late April. While it is shut down, traffic will be detoured over Thompson Street, Juniata Street, Richmond Street, Lefevre Street, Almond Street and Alresford Street.

Construction for the first four contracts of Revive 95 is now underway. The Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange and the adjoining section I-95 are being improved.

Driscoll Construction Company and Richard E. Pierson Construction Company are the joint contractors for Revive 95. All construction is scheduled to be completed by fall 2017.
