“Trevor Noah travels all over the world making people laugh and to see him in the intimate setting of the Event Center will be terrific,” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “This venue doesn’t have a bad seat.”

The 32-year-old comedian certainly was up close and personal for folks in attendance. The 30,000-square-foot multipurpose facility was morphed into a 600-seat venue for the performance. The bassy sound system of the Event Center was loud and clear. The sturdy, cushioned plastic chairs were comfortable, but closely arranged making for an intimate experience with not only Noah, but also the person seated next to you. The stage was well lit with an impressive array of light fixtures, typical of any high-quality performance space.

Born in South Africa to a black South African mother and a white European father, Noah made his U.S. television debut in 2012 on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno after a successful career in his native country. Noah joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2014 as a contributor before becoming the show’s host in 2015 following Stewart’s retirement.Trevor Noah Sign

Noah was joined by New York-based comic Angelo Lozada, who is the warm up comic for the Daily Show and a friend of Noah’s. Lozada’s set comprised of jokes relating to airport security, Spirit Airlines, and, of course, Donald Trump.

The Event Center at SugarHouse is part of the casino’s 2016 expansion rollout, which included an expanded gaming floor and seven new food and beverage outlets, including Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House by Gibsons Restaurant Group. In addition to live comedy acts and concerts, the SugarHouse Casino Event Center can be reserved for a variety of other occasions, including weddings, corporate receptions, seminars, trade shows and more.Trevor Noah Stage
