Punch Line Philly to Host Screening of Upcoming Documentary

On Monday, February 13th, Punch Line Philly will host a screening of an upcoming documentary entitled “Dying Laughing” to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation. The screening will begin at 7PM. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased on Punch Line Philly’s website.

“Dying Laughing” explores the less glamorous side of stand-up comedy and the nightly struggles and pressures of making people laugh. It includes interviews with, and on-the-road footage of, a host of comic greats, including Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman. The documentary is being screened in comedy clubs all across the United States and Canada. Its official release date is February 24.

The screenings are being held in honor of comedian Garry Shandling, who died in March last year at the age of 66. After having lost his brother to cystic fibrosis at an early age, Shandling became a devoted supporter of the CF Foundation. He worked regularly as a volunteer up until the time of his own death. Owned and operated by House of Blues Entertainment, Punch Line Philly opened its doors this past summer. It is located adjacent to the Fillmore at 33 East Laurel Street in Fishtown.
