Students Create Street Art Using Math Skills

Students from all around Philadelphia teamed up with artist MOMO to put their practical math skills to the test creating a mural along Frankford Avenue near Berks Street. Anaya Demota, 15, was one of the students working on the mural. She had this to say about her experiences:

Mr. MOMO has been teaching us a lot about geometry, circles, shapes and lines and how to configure them all into making something different, abstract and pretty cool, if you ask me.

MOMO is famous for making art out of household objects. According to him, many of the principles the students used to create the mural are used on a daily basis by people like masons and carpenters. One of our reporters was on the scene while they were painting, we will have continued coverage of this story in the future.
