Sugarhouse Casino Expands With Local Businesses

SugarHouse Casino is undergoing a $164 million expansion adding more than 150,000 square feet to its riverfront property. Part of that expansion will include seven new food-and-beverage companies, three of which are local to Philadelphia.

According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, The Marketplace, as the new food-and-beverage area is set to be named, will house three Philly establishments that are opening operations in the casino. They are Geno’s Steaks, Saxbys and Tacconelli’s Pizzeria.

Saxbys and Geno’s will be neighbors on one side with Tacconelli’s sitting across from them. An eating area with seats will rest between the establishments.

This will be Saxbys 33rd location and it will focus on specialty beverages and pastries — it will not be serving any sandwiches. It will, however, be the exclusive coffee for the multi-purpose event space housed by the casino.

This will be Geno’s Steaks third location including their flagship East Passyunk location and their second establishment at XFinity Live.
