Townhomes Set for Construction Where Northern Liberties Warehouse Once Stood

Northern Liberties said goodbye to a warehouse located on 5th and Fairmount that was recently demolished. The land was used for various events held inside the building, but will now be reconstructed in a new project completed by U.S. Construction, Inc.

The up and coming project called “Courtyard at Fifth” will include “twenty-two luxury townhomes” in the vacant space. The homes will include three bedrooms as well as three baths, a dining room, full-sized kitchen, living room and private outdoor space. Naked Philly notes that this new structure will be more visually-appealing to the community compared to the warehouse that was previously there.

There are two other projects that are already underway nearby, including across the street at the Transatlantic Building (420 Fairmount Avenue), which will be renovated into more residential living. They did their best to salvage as much as they could of the original building. Also on 6th street behind the vacant lot on 5th street are new houses.
