Update On That Philly Police Officer’s Gun That Was Stolen From Dos Segundos Last Month
Short answer: The gun is still on the loose.
It was reported that on April 6th, after finishing what appears to be a margarita pitcher outside of Dos Segundos in Northern Liberties, an unidentified female walked in the restaurant, saw a backpack that was left by a previous customer, and decided to swipe it. That bag left by the patron happened to contain a loaded Ruger .380, which interestingly happens to be available in some fun colors.
The Spirit News discovered from a source familiar with the situation that the backpack and loaded pistol belonged to a Philadelphia Police Officer, who was off duty at the time.
This morning , The Spirit spoke with Philadelphia Police spokesperson Christine O’Brien to check in on the investigation. According to her the gun and suspect are still on the loose.
Below is surveillance video from the day of the incident and if you have information about the woman or the gun Detective Sheeron at East Detective Division would love to hear from you. 215-686-3243.
