Two Men Slain Inside Harrowgate Home

According to Philly.com, two men were found dead inside of a Harrowgate home on Monday evening, November 23rd. Both victims were fatally shot in the back of the head at point-blank range. One of the two men was a resident of that home.

The family chose not to disclose the name of the victim who resided in the home on 3600 of Jasper Street. Police, however, said that he was 20 years old. Less is known about the other man who was shot and killed, though he is thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said a neighbor called 911 sometime around 3PM after not being able to contact the 20-year-old. When the police arrived nobody answered their knocks at the front door and the door was locked shut.

The police climbed through an open window and found a gory scene in the dining room where the two bodies were lying facedown. There were nine shell casing found around their bodies. When medics showed up minutes later they pronounced both victims dead.

A motive is still unclear and the house was described by Small as “clean and orderly.” There is no evidence to suggest forced entry or that a struggle took place.

The amount of time the two victims were lying on the floor is yet to-be-determined. Neighbors next to the house did not report hearing any gunshots.

So far this year the number of homicides has overtaken 2014’s count, and there is still another month left in 2015. The two victims were the 248th and 249th homicide victims in 2015.
