Accu-Reggie Weather Forecast (May 4 – May 10)

Wow, what a nasty week. Last week felt more like March than May; cold, cloudy and rainy on repeat! This week will, unfortunately be similar to last week, but not as bad. For one, warmth will resurge back into the region and make us happy again! Now, showers will threaten us throughout the week, but it won’t be as cold with a seemingly constant malaise of rainy and cool weather like we experienced last week. In other words, the sun will make more appearances.

The worst weather stretch of the week will be from Thursday to Saturday. During this time period a cold pocket of air drops down from Canada and develops a storm along the coast that sits nearly stationary for a couple days. During this time clouds, drizzle and showers will be the norm. Yuck, nasty and stupid. The good news is that the rest of week is going to be sunny with one important note; a band of thunderstorms will come through Sunday evening.Accu-Reggie-02-1

Wednesday will be a nice day with sunshine. Temperatures in most places will get to 70, but we need to watch for stray showers. Any rain will drop temperatures into the 60s, but not all places will see showers.

Thursday and Friday are both cool as temperatures struggle to get out of the 50s and chances of showers hang around for both days. A cold pocket of air will set up right over us with showers, drizzle and clouds for over 48 hours.

The sun may try to make an appearance on Saturday but showers from the coastal storm will still be around in some places.  I am more worried about pockets of drizzle since the storm will be weakening but not completely dead.

Sunday definitely features the return of sunshine and warmth! Temps soar to near 80! However, a band of thunderstorm will crash through in the evening.

Monday and Tuesday are both nice days with increasing warmth. It’s hard to keep warm weather away for long this time of year, thank goodness!

The weather winner of the week is Tuesday; the weather loser is Friday!
