Last week was the coldest stretch of winter to date: Saturday and Sunday were downright brutal, with temps in the single digits in the city on Sunday morning! Even though we did not get a big snowstorm, it snowed on 4 out of 7 days!

This week is going to be different. In fact, this weekend will be all about the “warmth.” So if the winter cold and snow has you down, this week will be a treat for you. Generally, we start chilly with surging warmth climaxing over the weekend before we cool back down. However, the polar vortex stays away this week.

Snow chances this week: A storm brewing after the weekend is our best chance for snow in the next 7 days. This storm could be rain or snow or both. I do expect another sizable snowstorm before the winter season ends. However, keep in mind that we only have about 4 more weeks of winter left, so it better come soon or it won’t come at all.  

Wednesday is a transition day between the storm that brought our latest bout with snow, ice and rain and our new weather pattern. It will be chilly with temps in the 40s, but that will feel warm after spending much of the weekend in the teens.

Thursday and Friday both feature chilly weather. It will not be brutally cold, but temperatures will struggle to get out of the 30s each day. Temperatures hold steady overnight on Friday as we get set for weekend warmth!

Saturday and Sunday will make you forget it is winter. Get out and enjoy it! Temperatures will be in the 50s each day, but cool down Sunday evening.  

A cold front continues to slowly move through the region on Monday setting the stage for rain or snow Monday night and Tuesday. We have to watch this storm since it could bring accumulating snow to the region again.

The weather winner of the week is Saturday; the weather loser is Thursday.
