Bicycle Coalition and United by Blue To Team Up and Clean Local Park

On Tuesday, May 3, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia will join forces with United by Blue for a Penn Treaty Park cleanup at 1341 North Delaware Avenue. The cleanup will last from 5PM – 7PM. Snacks and supplies will be provided. The event is operating in affiliation with Barcade, the Living Room Cafe and the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD). Volunteers are welcome to stop by Barcade after the conclusion of the day’s events for happy hour.

“Both of our organizations are interested in making Philly a better, more livable place, and [Penn Treaty Park] seemed like a great place to collaborate,” said Bicycle Coalition Communications Manager Randy LoBasso.

A similar cleanup event was held on April 19 at Pier 68 located on the Delaware in South Philadelphia.

The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia has worked for more than four decades to create a safe environment for cyclists and pedestrians alike. They advocate for healthier, more eco-friendly methods of transportation.

Established in 2010, United by Blue is a chain of coffee and clothing stores based in Philadelphia with four locations in the tri-state area. They are deeply passionate about the environment. United by Blue removes one pound of trash from an ocean or other body of water for every product the company sells.
