Bridesburg Memorial Day Parade

This year’s Grand Marshal is Adolph “Hank” Slaveski.  Slaveski enlisted in the U.S. Army and after serving in the Philippines and Japan, he was honorably discharged in 1949.  During the Korean conflict, he was drafted back into the Army and served from 1951 until honorably discharged in 1953.

Hank graduated from Northeast High School in 1947.  He married one of the neighborhood girls, Joan (Olson) in October 1953.  They had three sons, Steve, Mike and the late Joseph.  Hank and Joan will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary in October.

At the age of 81, Hank is still active in The American Legion, VFW, Polonia & Point No Point.
