Burgers, coffee, beer and art, all the finer things in life.

We’ve got an interesting collaboration happening in Philadelphia today. Shake Shack teamed up with Northern Liberties brewers Yards, Fishtown Coffee roasters La Colombe and the Mural Arts Program to brew limited edition Coffee Stout.

Starting Friday, January 8th, La Colombe’s Fishtown café, Yards’ tasting room and the three Philadelphia Shake Shacks (Center City, University City and King of Prussia), will all serve the collaborative brew for $5.75.

La Colombe supplied the coffee beans that Yards used to brew the dark ale which was then roasted with malt to create that smooth creamy sip. The Spirit was lucky enough share a growler of the stout with our staff last night (pictured above). To support the local community, $2 from every pint of Coffee Stout sold will go the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.

“Yards and La Colombe go way back, all the way to the same opening week over 20 years ago, and Shake Shack’s Danny Meyer is one of our oldest customers. We always jump at an opportunity to collaborate on a delicious coffee beer, and we were excited to work with Yards and Shake Shack on this brew to benefit Philadelphia’s Mural Arts program. It’s a great feeling to use your craft for a good cause. Burgers, coffee, beer and art, all the finer things in life.” Todd Carmichael, CEO and Co-Founder of La Colombe said.

“One of the great things about doing collaboration beers is that you’re bringing things together that aren’t normally together,” said Tom Kehoe, Founder and Brewmaster of Yards Brewing Company. “In this case, iconic things: La Colombe, Shake Shack and Yards.” Tom Kehoe, Founder and Brewmaster of Yards Brewing Company said.

A Coffee Stout kickoff will take place on January 8th, 2016 at 3:30PM at the Center City Shack (2000 Sansom Street), including a tasting of Coffee Stout paired with ShackBurgers and a meet-and-greet opportunity with Todd Carmichael, Tom Kehoe and Shake Shack Culinary Director, Mark Rosati.
