Front Street Cafe Starts Slinging Coffees

Caffeine addicts, rejoice! After what seems like the longest wait ever, Front Street Cafe (1253 N. Front Street) is finally open for business. Well, sort of.

Front Street Cafe (FSC) will eventually be a triple-threat bar + restaurant  + cafe. This week they’ve only got their cafe up and running so we will have to make due with only fulfilling one of our vices there. According to Andrew Petruzelli, FSC’s general manager, the rest of the operation will roll out between now and the end of October.

Bar service could start as soon as this weekend although, while discussing that possibility, Petruzelli and I both shrugged at a mention of the pope’s visit indicating they’ll be playing it by ear. Next week for sure though.

Sometime during the first week of October, we’ll start seeing FSC serve brunch daily. Genny Liebes already wrote a rundown of the cafe’s delicious food options over on Foobooz, so I’ll spare you the details. Rest assured, the options sound delicious.

By the end of the month — hopefully sooner — Petruzelli says the place will be going full-tilt with breakfast, lunch and dinner service as well as the cafe and grab-n-go options. If you get a chance this week, swing through, grab a coffee and say ‘hi’ to some new neighbors.
