Home Invasion: Assailants Break in, Stab One Victim and Rob Another

Early on Tuesday morning around 2:30am two men broke into a home on the 3100 block on F Street in Kensington armed with a hammer and a knife.

ABC 6 reported that three people were asleep inside the house. The invaders woke them and tied a 26-year-old woman to a chair with rope and electrical cord, a 36-year-old man was tied to a bed.

Police said the man tied to the bed was stabbed in the chest.

A woman in her 40s was not bound, but rather abducted and taken by the suspects to her car. They drove to Kensington and Allegheny to an ATM where she was made to withdraw $100.

The woman was then forced to drive home, where, according to police, a physical altercation took place.

Someone heard the woman screaming and called 911.

Police showed up in the middle of the fight. One suspect, a 28-year-old man, was covered by a mask and glove and was wielding a hammer.

To evade police he tried to steal the victim’s white Honda, which was still on. Two officers detained and arrested the suspect.

Still at large, the second suspect, who was wearing all dark clothing, ran away north on F Street.

According to ABC6 the victims were evaluated at Temple University Hospital. The woman were not injured.

The man, however, was “assaulted, punched to his face, had some bruises to his face. He was stabbed several times to his upper chest. However, although he lost a lot of blood, he was conscious, walking and talking.” Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The police are checking area surveillance cameras for evidence.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call 215-686-3243/3244.
