In Other Subway Related News: Wig Wearing Suspect Robs NoLibs Subway (VIDEO)

It’s been a bad week for sandwich fast-food chain Subway, both nationally and locally.

For starters, Jared Fogle, their notorious spokesperson who allegedly lost hundreds of pounds by eating sandwiches, may or may not be involved in something related to child pornography.

It is also being reported that the owner of Subway is dying from cancer and the company’s profits have been in decline for several years.

Locally, problems for the mega-chain are not so complicated but none the less scary.

The Subway at 5th and Spring Garden was robbed at gunpoint Monday night. According to police, the robber may have been wearing a wig.

The incident happened Monday night around 9:30PM and was captured on video. The fake curly-haired criminal walked into the store, approached a 25 year-old sandwich maker, pulled out a gun and demanded money. After the employee put the money in a black plastic bag the suspect demanded that she open the safe. The employee told the suspect there was no money in the safe, at which point he ordered the sandwich maker to the back of the store and instructed her to turn around. The suspect left the store and fled west on Spring Garden Street.

Police are describing the suspect as a black male, 40-50 years-of-age, 5’6″-5’7”, beard with a mustache, medium build, wearing a dark colored t-shirt, gray shorts, black sun glasses, black baseball cap, and a curly black wig.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to reach out to the Philadelphia Police Department.
