Reggie Ellis, a 44 year-old Kensington resident, was shot multiple times at the 2000 block of East Stella Street early on Sunday morning, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police officials say the shooting took place shortly before 1 AM and that Ellis was shot in the leg, neck and chest. According to police a black man wearing a white t-shirt was seen fleeing on Stella towards Frankford Ave after the shooting.

When police arrived only to find Ellis in a pool of his own blood, he was pronounced dead.

It was a bloody holiday weekend in Philadelphia: There were three other homicides and multiple shootings in other parts of the city, including a shootout at 35th and Sansom that left two men in critical condition.
