New Pizza Joint Opening On Temple’s Campus

There are few things college students love more than hearing the words “free pizza.”

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza (1100 Montgomery Ave.) will be opened on the campus of Temple University yesterday Thrusday, February 11. On Friday, February 12, the pizzeria will be giving free build-your-own pizza to customers that follow the establishment on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

This store is different from other pizzas on or around the campus due to Blaze’s homemade dough and fast prep time — a mere 180 seconds per pizza. Each thin-crust pie can be made with toppings of the pizza-lovers choosing or, for the indecisive bunch, picked from a list of signature style pizzas. If you’re looking for dietary-specific pizza options, have no fear: the restaurant has gluten-free dough and vegan cheese options too.

Just four years ago, Blaze Pizza originated in Irvine, California and now can be found all over the state. They’ve now spread to 27 states at 110 locations according to Philly Magazine.

With the help of numerous investors — two being NBA star LeBron James and Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner — the company is planning to expand their locations with nearly 50 openings this year.

Free Pizza at Blaze will be from 11 AM – 11 PM on Friday. If pizza is on your Valentine’s Day agenda this year, you can find the restaurant’s hours here. You can also look through their menu.
