Open House at Renovated St. Anne’s School

NHS Human Services will be holding an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at St. Anne’s on Wednesday, August 26, from 5:30-6:30 PM. After a year’s worth of renovations and upgrades, the school is ready to reopen as NHS School St. Anne’s. The school will provide services for students ages 5-21 who have autism and emotional support needs. Karen Markle, executive vice president for the education and autism division at NHS, was looking forwards to the opening of the school. She said in a press release:

We are very excited to open NHS School St. Anne’s, and look forward to providing students with autism or emotional support needs with a quality education that will prepare them for adulthood. We also support families in fostering a learning environment outside of the classroom as a result of our highly engaged and creative curriculum that models best practices.

The school will feature specialized programs like individualized lesson plans, anti-bullying, trauma-informed care, transition into adulthood, and more. The school aims to help student manage their behavior, effectively deal with bullying from peers, make friends with others, improve social and communication skills, and achieve academic standards. The 161-year-old school officially reopens on September 8.
