The Eighth Annual RiverCity Festival was held on Saturday October 10, 2015 beginning at noon at Penn Treaty Park. The free event was open to the public, promoted various small businesses and showcased local musical and artistic talent. Organized by the volunteers of the Fishtown Neighbors Association, the RiverCity Festival attracts nearly 10,000 attendees annually, features more than 100 local arts and food vendors and raises funds for various neighborhood projects.

The Annual East Kensington Neighbors Association (EKNA) Annual Cookout was held on Sunday October 11, 2015 at Emerald Park (Emerald and Dauphin). The event was rescheduled from last week due to bad weather from Hurricane Joaquin and was organized by the volunteers from EKNA. They provided Philadelphia Brewing Co. beers along with burgers and hot dogs from the grill. There was talk of new zoning policies, committee meetings and neighborhood goals, but the cookout was mostly about relaxing with neighbors and friends.
