On Friday, October 9, Pa. State Representative John Taylor hosted his 31st Senior Expo. Senior citizens from the Riverwards filed into Cohox Rec Center. The expo is a free, one-stop information fair for senior citizens and their families and provided access to information on a wide range of topics.

In attendance were representatives from the Philadelphia Police Department, PGW, PECO, Philadelphia Water Department, insurance companies, local podiatrists, chiropractors, senior help agencies, medical equipment companies, hospitals, city and state agencies, and of course The Spirit. Blood pressure readings, cholesterol tests and flue shots were also available.

“The senior expo is an important event because in one two-hour event, we can provide important information from about 60 agencies, businesses and organizations that provide services and goods to hundreds of seniors,” Rep. Taylor told The Spirit. “Not only is it informative but those that attend have a good time. It is an enjoyable event and our staff looks forward to it every year. We are very appreciative of the providers that attend and our host, the staff of Cohocksink Recreation center.”
