Gunfire rang out Tuesday night around 11:30 p.m., during what police call a neighbor’s dispute on the 2100 block of East Ann Street in Port Richmond.

Police say during the dispute, a 31-year-old man threatened his 66-year-old neighbor with a shovel; at which point, the elder neighbor retrieved a pistol and shot the younger aggressor in the stomach.

The 31-year-old was admitted to Temple Hospital in critical condition, but he’s expected to survive.

The elder neighbor remained at the scene and immediately surrendered to arriving officers. He was taken into custody, but his name and charges haven’t been released, as of yet.
