Promising Developments on Hollywood Street in Brewerytown
The 1200 block of North Hollywood Street in Brewerytown is ready for a makeover.
1235 and 1237 North Hollywood Street recently underwent renovations, supposedly through two different developers. The former sold late last year; the latter, priced at $197,000, is currently under negotiation. It is owned by the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA). 1233 has yet to be publicly marketed, though renovation permits have recently been established, thus indicating that ownership is soon to change.
Down the street, 1249 North Hollywood sits vacant and was issued a notice from city officials attesting to its hazardous state. It was purchased over a year ago; permits are expected to follow sometime in the near future. 1250 North Hollywood Street was erected across the block last year in place of what used to be a vacant lot.

Similar efforts to refurbish the smaller streets in Brewerytown are expected to take place within the next handful of years.
