Let’s talk about the next seven days of weather for a moment.

As we get into mid-July, we are starting to enter the heart of summer. In the weather world this means the worst of summer’s heat will start making its stifling face known! After a winter that had cold lingering into April, few of us will complain about typical July heat.

Wednesday will kick off the forecasting period with showers likely in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Thursday will be the coolest day of the week with highs only around 82; it will be cloudy in the morning but clearing throughout the day.

Friday looks to be the weather winner of the week; it will be warm and sunny with highs in the middle 80s. Heat builds up for the weekend along with the chance for thunderstorms and showers.

Thunderstorm chances begin Saturday evening and stick around for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Highs will be at or above 90 for this period.

Sunday will be the better weekend day of the two; it will be hot, and even with the thunderstorm chance, looks drier than Saturday. Here comes the heart of summer, crank up the A/C!
