Kensington Teacher Seeking Help To Raise Money For Autistic Students

The Philip H. Sheriden Elementary School in Kensington is looking for help in purchasing five new iPads Minis for their students on the autistic spectrum. According to Mr. Breen, the teacher in need, these students lack interpersonal and social communication skills necessary for growth and the iPads would help them develop and express those skills.

According to Mr. Breen,

“Communication is vital for displaying and demonstrating emotions, interacting socially, and becoming an active learner. Our students have difficulty expressing these three areas, and with the help of these devices, our students will have the tools to succeed.”

These students, who are at the primary level of education, would use the iPads’ applications for constructing sentences using pictures and symbols.
